Who Should Use Oova?

Who Should Use Oova?

Oova was built to provide accurate and precise hormone measurements for all its users, regardless of their cycle patterns or fertility complications. Oova is an at-home fertility test that measures luteinizing hormone and progesterone in one test strip. It measures both of these hormones quantitatively- that means users get their exact hormone measurements with a numerical value every time they use Oova. Our at-home test tracks, predicts, and confirms ovulation every cycle, providing women with all the data and guidance they need in our smartphone app. To use Oova, women provide a urine sample, scan the QR code with their phone cameras, and get all their hormone data, cycle trends, and personalized recommendations in our app. Oova provides the same accuracy as a clinical blood test, through urine testing in the comfort of a user’s home.

There are countless groups of people who can benefit from using Oova. Among these are:

People with reproductive disorders

If you struggle with PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, or other reproductive disorders, Oova will provide you with a complete view of your fertility. In the past, it may have been complicated for those with these conditions to track their cycles, because their hormones don’t fall into what is considered “normal.” However, these definitions of normal and standard are outdated. Oova tracks hormones quantitatively and throughout the cycle. That means that users can see their hormone behavior throughout the cycle, understanding if and when they are ovulating each month.

People with irregular cycles

Most fertility tests compare all users to a 28-day cycle- if you have a long or short cycle, these tests won’t work for you. With Oova, it doesn’t matter if your cycle length changes every month, or if it’s consistently long or short. Oova measures your exact hormone levels to learn exactly when you are ovulating, and relays that information to you.

Low/high hormone levels

Traditional OPKs use threshold-based, qualitative tests. That means they measure if a user’s hormone levels are above or below a certain amount in order to distinguish whether or not you’re ovulating. Oova works differently. Our at home test monitors your unique hormone levels and builds your cycle report based on your actual measurements. Oova will never compare a user’s hormone data to an outdated idea of “normal” hormone levels. You also get a number each day rather than a simple smiley face or a yes/no answer.

Current tools are not working

If fertility tools are not working for you, and you’re not sure why, Oova may be your answer. Oova provides a personalized and clinically accurate view of your cycle. Oova is also the only fertility test that measures both LH and progesterone, giving you more information with a more holistic approach. If you are only tracking LH, (the hormone tracked by OPKs), you can never be sure if you are actually ovulating every cycle. That’s because an LH surge does not confirm ovulation- you can still see peak LH levels without releasing an egg. Oova tracks progesterone, which will only get elevated if an egg is actually released.

People who do not want to go to the clinic or get blood drawn

If you have a fear of needles, or simply don’t have the time or energy to go to the clinic, Oova is for you. Oova provides your hormone data with the same accuracy as a clinic, in the privacy of your home. Oova is currently being used by over 75 clinics across the US to monitor patients’ hormones remotely. Oova provides you with real time, actual hormone measurements, in your own home and on your own time. If you are a clinician, or if you want your clinician to use Oova to monitor you, fill out the form here.

When our founder went through her infertility journey, there were no tools that allowed her to accurately track her irregular cycle. That’s why she built Oova- a product that works for all its users, regardless of any variable that has made cycle tracking complicated for them in the past. Every fertility journey is different- Oova supports each of them.
